precision in every line.
For Hattori Hanzo’s Trimmer, the packaging couldn’t be loud. It had to breathe restraint—refined, exact, razor-sharp. Inspired by the brand’s Japanese roots and professional craftsmanship, the design began with one clear goal: create something as precise and pure as the tool inside.
sharp. clean. minimal.
japanese inspired.
A packaging design for Hanzo Trimmers that embodies precision, beauty, and the simplicity of Japanese Zen, resulting in a sleek, minimalist presentation that appeals to discerning professionals.
Oh yeah, and we had to design the sleek Hanzo cape as well.
Before a single box was printed, the designs were modeled fully in 3D, studying every angle, every reflection. Matte black wrapped the surface like velvet. The UV spot gloss—subtle but deliberate—outlined the trimmer itself and embedded the Hanzo logos into the surface, creating a black-on-black landscape that played with light depending on how it was held.
a form you can feel.
This packaging design had to feel as high end as possible. Every detail was placed with purpose, including the custom iconography. The contrast between the matte and the gloss allowed the design to whisper rather than shout—revealing itself only when light caught the surface, like a blade glimpsed at the perfect angle.
The final packaging is quiet, sculptural, and deliberate—an object that feels as thoughtfully made as the tool it protects. It invites the user to pause, to run their hand over the raised marks, to notice craftsmanship without being told to.
