designing an author's personal brand

a thoughtful identity for a thoughtful voice.
Simo came to me as he was preparing to launch his second book, How to Not Know. Together, we built a visual identity and website that reflect his signature tone — warm, clear, and human. The brand needed to hold the weight of his ideas while staying light enough to feel approachable and alive.
From his handwriting-inspired logo system to a soft, literary color palette and editorial typography, every element was designed to bring forward the balance between intellect and emotion. We extended this language across the full brand system — from site structure to illustration, color, and typography — creating a digital home that feels personal and modern, yet timeless enough to grow with him as his work expands.

when you listen closely enough, a brand tells you what it wants to be.

built through listening
It all started in a strategy workshop, an open, curious space that felt more like a salon than a meeting. That's typically how all of my projects begin. We explored who Simone is at his core: a writer, a speaker, a question-asker who invites people to slow down and notice their own lives. The visual direction began to take shape through that energy — the warmth of Marin County light, the soft pastels and terrazzo hues of Barcelona architecture, the feeling of conversation over coffee where ideas move slowly and meaningfully.
From there, I listened. Again and again. To the tone of his words, the rhythm of his pauses, the kind of presence he carries both on stage and on the page. The brand grew from that — thoughtful, unhurried, approachable. A world that feels calm but alive, intellectual but not distant. The kind of brand that makes you want to linger.

meaning made visible
Simone’s brand brings his voice to life. It's intentionally calm, thoughtful, and grounded in curiosity with tons of breathing room. Every detail, from the typography to the tone, carries his perspective on how we find meaning in work and in ourselves. The identity, custom illustrations, and website move with the same rhythm as his writing, creating a world that feels both personal and expansive.
If you’re ready to create a brand that feels deeply aligned with who you are and the work you do, let’s make something meaningful together.

“a brand born from listening... to the pauses, the stories, the human beneath it all."
